Creating AI Images

We regularly receive enquiries from customers who have developed their design in an AI application, and want to reproduce this on a plaque or item of jewellery. Many of the designs are beautifully rendered.

However, there are a few tips and tricks when it comes to engraving. The images below are a great example. Our customer came in with the rendered and coloured image and asked us to replicate this on their ring. We made a quick but failed attempt to trace the image, and then went back to the customer to explain the costs involved in re-working the file. We suggested reproducing the AI image with different specifications, and the line art image is the result. This image was able to be traced with very little additional work and minimal extra cost.
