Unfortunately, not all the cups we see have been engraved by us in prior years. There has been a noticeable deterioration in consistency and quality of cup and trophy plate engraving entries over the last decade or so. This can be attributed to several factors, not least of which is the ease of access that untrained people have to basic engraving tools.
Whether your organisation gets all their trophies engraved at once, or leaves the engraving to the individual winners, it is a good idea to have a basic specification that engravers are required to meet. Please feel free to copy and paste the text that follows into your work orders, or the instructions you provide to cup winners.
